Hosts Geoff Keighley and Lucy James showed off over two hours of world premieres, trailers, and updates during the Summer Games Fest livestream on YouTube and Twitch. Here are the biggest announcements from Summer Games Fest 2026.
Resident Evil: Veronica
Capcom wisely used the opening slot at Summer Games Fest to announce the next entry in the Resident Evil series: a ground-up remake of 2000’s Code Veronica simply retitled Resident Evil: Veronica. Starring series mainstay Claire Redfield, the original follows her search for brother Chris three months after the Raccoon City incident. The first Resident Evil to ditch static 2D backgrounds in favor of real-time 3D environments, Code Veronica received universal acclaim for its groundbreaking visuals, varied level design, and bombastic Hollywood action. The reveal trailer depicts an early section of the game where Claire searches Chris’ abandoned Parisian apartment before she is kidnapped by Umbrella special forces and transported to the mysterious Rockfort Island. As in previous Resident Evil remakes, expect stunning visuals, modernized combat, and an updated story.

Mighty Cuphead Adventure
Studio MDHR announced two new projects during an adorable news bulletin puppet show: first, an as yet untitled hand-animated successor to tough-as-nails side-scroller Cuphead, and second, 8-bit arcade platformer Mighty Cuphead Adventure. Experience the latter in single-player or two-player co-op as either Cuphead himself or best pal Mugman.
Mighty Cuphead Adventure is in development for SEGA Master System, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC.

Alien Isolation 2
Initially confirmed by Creative Assembly as part of a tenth anniversary post, Alien Isolation 2 was officially revealed with a trailer showing footage of a dilapidated space shuttle stranded on a storm-ravaged colony world. A mysterious narrator warns, “Your mistake. It was expensive. That’s something the company rarely forgives. This is your last chance.” The sequel will feature Weyland-Yutani planetary outpost Kurosaki Station as an explorable area and a return to the cat-and-mouse survival horror gameplay of the critically-acclaimed 2014 original.
In a statement on their website, Creative Director Al Hope shared the studio’s excitement at finally revealing the project after years of development:
It has been over a decade since we created the original Alien: Isolation and I am so excited to show everyone the first glimpse of the sequel. Our dedicated Survival team at Creative Assembly has been working hard to create a new, evolved Isolation experience continuing the legacy of the Alien franchise, making the eponymous killer smarter, the environment harsher and the chance of survival slimmer

gen ATLAS
Fumito Ueda – the mind behind Ico, Shadow of the Colossus, and The Last Guardian – revealed his studio genDesign’s next title: gen ATLAS. Explore an abandoned planet, combat colossal machines, and rebuild your world in this single-player, open-world action-adventure game.
gen ATLAS is in development for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
Blood Message
Entertainment 24’s Blood Message received a full three-minute story trailer during Summer Games Fest, showcasing the game’s brutal combat and tumultuous depiction of Tang dynasty China. You’ll play as Pei Changguan, a soldier tasked with delivering a key message amidst the chaos of the Shazhou Uprising to save his homeland whilst searching for his missing son, Ning.
A slew of traditional third-person action-adventure elements from walking and talking scenes to shimmying through gaps belie a responsive, visceral combat systems: grab enemies to block sword strikes, throw objects, and employ brutal environmental finishers. The story trailer also promises larger-scale war and siege levels from Pei’s boots-on-the-ground perspective. Blood Message looks to be a worthy cinematic successor to the likes of God of War and The Last of Us.

Stranger Than Heaven
Yakuza creators RGG Studio finally confirmed a January 15, 2027 release date for era-spanning crime saga Stranger Than Heaven, following the adventures of Japanese-American Makoto Daito and his lifelong friend Yu Shinjo as they attempt to survive and prosper across five decades of 20th Century Japan. The most recent story trailer revealed that the likeness of late musician and rap icon Tupac Shakur will be used to portray supporting character Amaru. This comes after Snoop Dogg was revealed as Orpheus, a smuggler who unknowingly transports Makoto and Yu from San Francisco to the city of Kokura.
Stranger Than Heaven launches on January 15, 2027 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin
Paramount Games re-revealed Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin after three years of radio silence. Previously cancelled under the stewardship of Embracer Group subsidiary THQ Nordic, the revived version will be co-produced with legendary action developers PlatinumGames. Adapting the critically acclaimed comic miniseries of the same name, this cinematic action-adventure will follow the last surviving Ninja Turtle as he battles through a post-apocalyptic New York City and embarks upon a desperate quest for revenge.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin is currently in development for consoles and PC.

Fortnite: Runners
Epic Games launched the third season of Fortnite Chapter 7, a.k.a. Runners, dropping map expansion Shattered Coast, a host of fresh weapons, and a new extraction mode that tasks players with retrieving Sprites. The Masters of the Universe franchise featured as the season’s first collab, unlocking He-Man, She-Ra, and Skeletor as playable characters on June 6.

Gundam: Rogue Orbit
Bandai Namco revealed the next game in this storied sci-fi franchise, introducing a brand new timeline for the Gundam saga that should act as a perfect entry point for new players as well as an exciting evolution for returning fans. Suiting up as ace Helix pilot RE-X, Gundam: Rogue Orbit will combine fast-paced Mobile Suit combat with cinematic storytelling in a clear effort to finally bring the nearly fifty year old series into the Western mainstream.

An Eggstremely Hard Game
Independent developer BBear Studio confirmed a release date for their their physics-based co-op platformer An Eggstremely Hard Game which follows two (or four) goose parents as they attempt to make it home safely with their baby egg intact. Honk through dozens of zany challenges across parks, cities, and rivers whilst carefully handling your nest. A Steam Demo is available now for those looking to try out the game.

Crossfire
That’s No Moon, a new studio comprised of former Naughty Dog and Infinity Ward devs, revealed their debut game: Crossfire. This narrative third-person shooter will blend cinematic sci-fi action and grounded stealth combat as two enemy soldiers form a temporary alliance in order to survive. During an onstage presentation, Game Director Jacob Minkoff touted the game’s Adaptive Cover system under which player character Layla (Claudia Doumit) will dynamically change position or stance to break line of sight with enemies, rewarding strategy and positioning over traditional run-and-gun tactics.

Guild Wars 3
Longtime developer ArenaNet announced Guild Wars 3, their first standalone game since 2012, as the next evolution of the MMORPG. Guild Wars 2 has received regular expansions and content updates as recently as October 2025 with Visions of Eternity and Guild Wars: Reforged, a remaster of the 2005 original, released soon after. During an interview with IGN, studio head Colin Johanson teased that the third entry would feature momentum-based freeform traversal and a revitalized combat system; developing traditionally single-player actions mechanics for a multiplayer experience. Guild Wars 3 will also release on PS5, marking the first time the series has appeared on home console.

End of Abyss
Section 9 Interactive, a Swedish studio founded by former Tarsier Studios veterans, confirmed a release date for their isometric sci-fi horror End of Abyss. You’ll play as rookie combat technician Cel as she explores a mysterious underground facility with her futuristic Scanner and dispatch horrifying monsters in tense survival combat encounters. End of Abyss appears to take influences from everything from Dead Space to SIGNALIS and classic Metroid; a fascinating look into the future of survival horror.

Last Harbor
So, the zombie apocalypse happened. And you’re stranded on a boat. Explore the San Juan islands of Washington State, scavenge for food and resources, and survive relentless zombie hordes in this fishing simulator cum zombie action-horror from indie developer and publisher tinyBuild.
Last Harbor is currently in development for PC.

Virtua Fighter: Crossroads
SEGA officially revealed the reboot of classic franchise Virtua Fighter, the first original game since 2006’s critically acclaimed Virtua Fighter 5, with a story trailer and dedicated showcase; the latter of which streamed immediately after Summer Games Fest. Innovating beyond the traditional scale of fighting games, developers RGG Studio have crafted an expansive narrative single-player mode – leveraging their experience with the Yakuza series – that they hope establishes a new approach to the genre: the fighting adventure.
Play as four rookie fighters in the Southeast Asian city of Vilasapara, where in absence of firearms disputes are settled hand-to hand. In addition to more traditional campaign missions, players can also visit restaurants, complete side quests and fight in optional ‘nightmare’ levels. Branching narratives are also present, meaningfully reacting to player choices throughout the story. Hence, Virtua Fighter: Crossroads.

Wuthering Waves x Cyberpunk Edgerunners
Open-world gacha-RPG Wuthering Waves announced a collab with CD Projekt Red, bringing the world of Cyberpunk 2077 and beloved anime Cyberpunk Edgerunners to Solaris-3. The release date trailer showed The Rover mysteriously arriving in Night City, meeting fan-favorite characters Lucy and Rebecca, and battling legendary Arasaka mercenary Adam Smasher.
Wuthering Waves is out now for PlayStation 5, PC, and Android/iOS/macOS devices. Xbox Series X|S versions launch July 2026.

Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance
The first expansion for action-RPG Monster Hunter Wilds was revealed as Ascendance: introducing the sky islands of the Eastlands where the return of elder dragon Kushala Daora threatens you and the rest of Avis Unit. Continuing the story from the base game, Ascendance will also feature more hunter abilities, new weapon actions via the Boost Bracer, and the addition of Master Rank quests.

Swords of Legends
Action-RPG Swords of Legends offered a first look at its soulslike combat, Spirit Companion system and a boss fight against Kong Kong Zi, Master of Cantrip: a swift and deadly enemy with attacks modeled after traditional Chinese stage magic. Set in a fantasy world inspired by the strange tales of classical Chinese literature, the retitled fourth entry in the Guijan series explores a land where the kingdoms of Earth, Heaven, and Hell intersect; hopefully continuing the success of other Chinese action titles such as Black Myth: Wukong and Wuchang: Fallen Feathers.

Hot Wheels: Infinite Rush
The next Hot Wheels racing game, Infinite Rush, was revealed at Summer Games Fest and teased an expansive island environment spanning bustling cities, lush parks, and scorching deserts; a place for players to burn rubber between more traditional obstacle course races on the classic orange plastic.

Sonic Racing Crossworlds
To celebrate Sonic the Hedgehog’s 35th anniversary, SEGA revealed over a year of upcoming content for beloved racer Crossworlds. The remaining Year One updates will feature new racetracks and vehicles from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem and Avatar Legends in July and October respectively; Year Two will release throughout 2027 and spotlight Godzilla and Evangelion. Stay tuned to Smash Jump for more updates. SEGA also took the opportunity to announce Sonic Pico Park, a co-operative 2D puzzle platformer from indie studio Tecopark, revamping their long-running Pico Park series with the Sonic license. Up to four players will work together as either Sonic, Knuckles, Tails, or Amy Rose.

Attack on Titan 3
Developer Koei Tecmo revealed the third and final hack-and-slash videogame adaptation of Attack on Titan, depicting the anime’s climactic conclusion. While the game is slated to depict the entire saga, most of the trailer footage showed off scenes from later in the story: Levi’s forest fight with the Beast Titan, the War Hammer Titan of Marley, and the final battle against The Rumbling. A release date was not included in the announcement but the trailer confirmed more details will be revealed at a “Scouting Report” event on July 1.

Clutch
Maverick Games, founded by Forza Horizon 5 director Mike Brown, showed off a new trailer for open-world racer Clutch that lifted the hood on the game’s narrative in which siblings Theo and Cass Martial compete across the prestigious R1K circuit and the underground Midnight Collective. The game spans the city of Monaco and the wider French Riviera and will feature handcrafted single-player missions as well as emergent multiplayer events in a Horizon-style PvPvE world.

Sea of Remnants
When I first watched the reveal trailer for Joker Studio’s Sea of Remnants, I had absolutely no idea what was happening. Foot-tapping rock, vaguely baroque pirate outfits, and stylish animation left a positive but short-lived impression but a quick search after the showcase provided some more detail. Sea of Remnants is a free-to-play adventure RPG in which players will brave the high seas, battle strange monsters in hybrid real-time/turn-based combat, and recruit powerful sailors to your fleet.

Hitman: World of Assassination – The Wizard Elusive Target
IO Interactive launched their next elusive target set on the Isle of Sgàil, tasking Agent 47 with eliminating Taylor Graves a.k.a. The Wizard: a former boxer portrayed by rapper (and apparent Muay Thai advocate) Wiz Khalifa. Elsewhere, IO announced plans to bring the original trilogy to modern PC and console with Hitman Classic Trilogy Remastered. Developed alongside Saber Interactive, the remaster will include Hitman: Codename 47, Hitman 2: Silent Assassin, and Hitman: Contracts.

Palworld 1.0
The feature-complete 1.0 version of Palworld was confirmed to release on July 10 after more than five years in Early Access; launching alongside new Pals, enemies, and explorable areas. Palworld 1.0 won’t require you to wipe your previous saved data but developer Pocketpair insist that “starting a new character” will provide the best experience for veteran players.

The Wolf Among Us 2
Finally. After cancellation rumours, studio closures, and thirteen long years, Telltale is back with the next chapter of Fables’ prequel The Wolf Among Us. Beginning development in the midst of a brutal corporate restructure under LCG Entertainment, and last showing signs of life over four years ago, many fans worried that Bigby’s next adventure would never see the light of day. The new ‘announcement’ trailer provided a tease of the game’s story wherein Bigby and Snow will apparently be investigating a string of homicides targeting husbands and wives, navigating the tensions and politics of Fabletown’s magical residents while dealing with a rival investigator. Though older Telltale titles were often guilty of poor optimization and choppy framerate, the sequel looks to be taking full advantage of Unreal Engine 5.
Additionally, Telltale announced a remastered version of the first The Wolf Among Us would release in Holiday 2026 and include all five episodes of the original episodic series repackaged with enhanced visuals, cleaner audio, improved interface elements, and special bonus material.

Stellar Blade: Blood Rain
Developer Shift Up announced Stellar Blade: Blood Rain, sequel to the popular hack-and-slash soulslike of the same name. The trailer revealed new protagonist Evie tailing a mysterious stranger in a cyberpunk rendition of Chongqing before showcasing the game’s reliably frenetic action combat. During interviews with the Korean media, Shift Up executive Hyung-Tae Kim stressed that Blood Rain has only been in development for around one year, and is unlikely to release anytime soon.
Stellar Blade: Blood Rain is currently in development as a self-published title.
Final Fantasy VII Revelation
The ‘one more thing’ at Summer Games Fest 2026 revealed the third and final installment in the Final Fantasy VII remake trilogy, subtitled Revelation. The final battle against Sephiroth beckons as meteors fill the sky and war rages. Defeat monstrous guardians the Weapons in bombastic kaiju boss battles using the series’ proprietary hybrid battle system, blending real-time action and turn-based strategy.
The gameplay introduction that premiered alongside the reveal showed off Square Enix’s most expansive open-world yet spanning the dilapidated outskirts of Midgar, sun-drenched archipelagos, and the urban sprawls of warrior nation Wutai. Set sail in the skies above Gaia with your airship, the Highwind, and seamlessly parachute to ground level from anywhere in the world. Two new additions to Cloud’s party were also announced: sharpshooter Vincent Valentine and ace pilot Cid Highwind. The climactic conclusion to the remake trilogy was also confirmed to be launching on all platforms simultaneously.
