Devon Pritchard made her first appearance in 2026

The New York Video Game Critics Circle has presented its 15th Annual New York Game Awards. The event featured several special guests, including Reggie Fils-Aimé, who served as a co-host. Reggie even mentioned Devon Pritchard, whom he believed would be “excellent” at leading Nintendo of America.

Surprisingly, Pritchard made her first recorded speech for the public during the showcase. She also mentioned her wish to meet new, inspiring creators being welcomed in the gaming space, which implies some interest in participating in events or gatherings in-person.

“I’m excited to meet you to hear those stories and to learn from your journeys; You’re on an adventure and every step you take matters.”

Tsunekazu Ishihara, the President/CEO of the Pokémon Company, even delivered a message when the Pokémon Company representatives accepted the Andrew Yoon Memorial Legends Award. The Pokémon Company CEO, along with other developers, expressed gratitude for the growing Pokémon community and relished the lengthy development of Pokémon. He looks forward to how the series will evolve in the future with new Pokémon experiences while anticipating the celebration for the 30th anniversary of Pokémon in 2026.

“This year we will celebrate 30 years of Pokémon. We will continue doing our best to deliver new Pokémon worlds to people all around the world, and we hope that you will all continue to enjoy Pokémon for a long time to come.”
