Good Fun Corporation has released the first gameplay trailer for upcoming PvPvE extraction RPG Hunger, set to release in early access on Steam and the Epic Store later this year.
Set in a plagued Napoleonic Europe, Hunger will see players scavenge and compete for survival against other players in a violent and decaying world ravaged by war and twisted by a bacterium of unknown origin.
While surviving the horrors in the world of Hunger, players will progress through levels 1-100 unlocking more of the story and endgame features. Hunger features no wipe mechanics typical of an extraction shooter, instead everything persists through matches, allowing for players to grow stronger and gain access to advanced weapons and other gear.Â
Good Fun Corporation intends to build an immersive world with an endgame that will offer dungeons, bosses and PvP options for those able to survive long enough.Â
So far, Hunger appears to be a refreshing and somewhat new take on the extraction shooter and its persistent mechanics and the dark, macabre aesthetic is a distinctive and immediate draw. It remains to be seen how well Hunger will be received as it may encounter stiff competition from Marathon in this genre.
Hunger can now be wishlisted ahead of early access.
