Kickstarter project Somber Heaven looks dead in the water

in News

April 2, 2025

Earlier this year, solo developer NikoSkipz unveiled Somber Heaven, a Kingdom Hearts, Lord of Rings, and Final Fantasy-inspired open world action RPG. Since then, it got funded and has since had a rocky time as the project appears to potentially be dead following some concerning allegations being thrown his way.

YouTuber TheGamersJoint detailed a lot of shady behavior Niko has displayed in two videos, including scamming people by taking commissions and never delivering, forcing an NDA on an artist who was not paid for their work, even though they believed they would, stealing assets, even an Aerith model, and potentially trying to get plugins for Unreal Engine 5.5 from a commissioner. He also supposedly deleted the files related to Somber Heaven’s Kickstarter as they proved to take up too much space on his PC.

Smash Jump has reached out to NikoSkipz for comment and will update when we get a response.
