About two years ago, a return to a beloved classic series, Metal Slug, was announced. Now, with a release timeframe finally known, Metal Slug Tactics is set to launch in fall 2024.

Once believed to be secretly canceled, the game resurfaced with a new trailer from publisher Dotemu.

.@SNKPofficial, @LeikirStudio, and @Dotemu are thrilled to share that Metal Slug Tactics is landing on Steam, Playstation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch this Fall. 🍂

Metal Slug Tactics is an imaginative yet respectful way to return to the series, introducing a new addition and bringing the series back to consoles. While the series has seen multiple iOS and Android releases, a new console release hasn’t been seen since 2006. While the series has been ported to modern consoles, fans have been eager for something new beyond the recent mobile games.

Metal Slug Tactics will allow fans to return to the series in a brand new way, with a rogue-like, turn-based adaptation of the traditional run-and-gun gameplay.

Previously, Metal Slug Tactics was confirmed to be coming to the Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam. However, the newest trailer confirms that the game will be available on all consoles, including the current and previous generations such as the PS4 and Xbox One. Even better, a demo will be available on PC from June 10 to June 17 in celebration of Steam Next Fest.
