Mojang is poised to change how fans play Minecraft: Bedrock Edition forever with the introduction of Add-Ons. What was once a Java version exclusive feature will soon be something of a staple of the more stable Bedrock.
On the Minecraft blog, it was revealed that fans can now customize their experience with what are effectively mods created by the community. These optional features range from new mobs to blocks to whole new game mechanics. Currently, a slew of these mods are available on the Minecraft Marketplace free of charge. Mods such as All the Wool, Another Furniture, Spark Pets, and more are heading this new revolution.
It’s clear, though, Bedrock Edition will have a long wait until it takes off with these mods, considering it sounds like Microsoft plans on monetizing the feature, akin to something like what Fallout 4 did with the Creation Club… and we all know how successful that was.
