No Man’s Sky dev announces brand-new game, Light No Fire

No Man’s Sky developer Hello Games has announced its newest project, Light No Fire, which, while similar to the space-faring sim, will take more of a fantasy approach with survival elements. The game at least looks cool and promises a lot, which might turn some people off who know of the dev’s past, but considering it’s turned its debut game into the gaming equivalent of a Pheonix, many may see this as a more valid attempt.

During this year’s The Game Awards, the event fostered a small look at the game, including multiplayer footage shot in-game. Fear not, it’s another game that can be played either alone or with companions across the globe, with a “fantasy planet the size of Earth” to explore. The game’s fact sheet details that the game is all about “adventure, building, survival, and exploration together.”

Light No Fire promises to have a procedurally generated planet with immersive biomes, valuable resources, and unique enemies. On top of that, it sounds like it’s going to toss a little subversion our way, as it won’t thrust you into the role of a hero, but rather someone looking to uncover the secrets of this ancient planet.

At this time, the British developer has bit its tongue from giving a proper release date or platforms we can expect it on.
