PlayStation celebrates 30-year anniversary with exclusive collector’s items

It’s been officially three decades since PlayStation joined the gaming industry. To celebrate its 30-year run, the company is releasing its exclusive historical background through PlayStation: The First 30 Years.

PlayStation: The First 30 Years will describe the company’s gaming development through 400 pages worth of released consoles, prototypes, interviews, and more. The extensive hardcover photographic book provides easy access to researching PlayStation’s first console up to the present day. It also includes four ribbons, which are colored like the face buttons on the PlayStation controller.

Anyone can currently pre-order the standard edition or the special deluxe edition. The supply-limited deluxe version includes the foil-stamped clamshell presentation box, colored neon ink box lining, and a photographic print with Teiyu Goto and Benedict Redgrove’s signatures. It’s estimated that the historical photo book will ship and launch on public shelves in Spring 2026.

PlayStation is also partnering with Reebok to bring PlayStation-inspired sneakers to three locations — the Workout Plus for the United Kingdom, Pump Omni Zone II for the United States, and the InstaPump Fury 94 for Japan. It’s planned to be released in October 2025 to pay respect to the original PlayStation console.
