Series lead producer Motoi Okamoto wants to build up the series with games this year. The caveat, though, is that he first wants to give fans a follow-up report and tells people to wait “a little longer.”
In a statement to Famitsu (via GamingBolt), Okamoto expressed his ambition for 2024, which seems all the more possible. There wasn’t as much Silent Hill stuff last year, outside of the Acensions TV show, despite all the announcements made in 2022, but it seems this year might be the year of the fog. Currently in the pipeline, we have Bloober Team’s Silent Hill 2 remake and NoCode’s Silent Hill: Townfall potentially at least seeing a release date this year.
On top of those potentials, we could feasibly see a little more surrounding NeoBard Entertainment’s Silent Hill f, which is the next mainline entry in the series. It’s also entirely possible there are projects in the pipeline that the public doesn’t know about, too. It’s all a waiting game at this point, but we hope that it at least is worth such an ambition.
“We will continue to build up the ‘Silent Hill‘ series, both in games and otherwise: we have been delivering the TV drama-style interactive streaming ‘Silent Hill: Ascension‘ since November 2023, and in 2024, we will finally be able to build up the series with games.”
More Smash Jump: Steamboat Willy-inspired Infestation 88 gets rebranded, British gaming icon, Monty Mole, gets a collection on the Switch, and we can expect more about Slitterhead this year.
