Skull and Bones Season 1, Raging Tides, is live

It’s time to expand and face new threats in Skull and Bones as the first season, Raging Tides, has begun.

In Skull and Bones’ first season, players can expect an array of new content. From difficult seasonal events to better leaderboard rewards, this content update looks to be a step forward for Ubisoft’s derided live service game.

Tides of Terror headlines the update, giving bored players a new challenge. The events are increasingly difficult tasks that seek to test all players’ skills going forward. Facing off against La Peste’s fleet leads to a finale event where players will get to face off against the notorious La Peste.ย

Accompanying this are other things set to spice up the gameplay loop. New events taking place in the world include merchant ships carrying valuable loot, elite warships patrolling the waters, ghost ships, and a new fearsome sea creature. Ubisoft may be able to redeem the game in critics eyes, with our own James Kub reviewing the game and noted an immense lack of content. This update looks to rectify that issue.

To top Season 1, there is a new seasonal Smuggler Pass. This consists of three free tracks that allow every player to gain new items and blueprints. The blueprints will allow players to optimize their ships. A premium pass is also available that gives access to exclusive cosmetics and gold.ย

With expansive content in the first season, Skull and Bones is well on its way to being a mainstay in the live-service genre.
