Chinese animated mega-hit Ne Zha 2 releases English dub next month

A24 is raring to bring CMC’s Chinese animated mega-hit, Ne Zha 2, to a western audience next month. Moreover, Wicked’s Michelle Yeoh is in the voice cast.

Variety reports the film will hit the English-speaking world, specifically the US, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand in late August. Speaking on her involvement, Yeoh is excited to bring the experience to English speakers.

“Sharing this with audiences in English is such a joy, and I can’t wait for everyone to experience the wonder, heart, spectacular artistry and magic of this film on the big screen.”

Ne Zha 2 was made with just $80 million and managed to come out on top with $2.2 billion and snagging a handful of records in the process. It’s become the highest-grossing animated film, highest-grossing non-English language film, and among the top five highest-grossing films of all-time.

Ne Zha 2 releases to the English-speaking audiences on August 22.
