Miss watching or reading Food Wars!: Shokugeki no Soma? Completely astonished by the anime or manga’s lackluster ending? Maybe and hopefully, a new cooking anime will serve as a palate cleanser.
Fortunately, an anime adaptation of the Fermant no Ryōri (Fermat’s Cuisine) manga written and illustrated by Yūgo Kobayashi has been confirmed according to Anime News Network.
The Aoashi mangaka drew an illustration of both the main characters to commemorate the news. The drawing can be viewed through the anime’s official X account.
The cooking manga was launched in Kodansha’s Monthly Shonen Magazine on September 6, 2018. As of September 28, the manga has four manga volumes published by Kodansha. Kobayashi’s manga also generated a total of 23 million copies in circulation.
Anime News Network describes the manga’s synopsis as such:
“The manga centers on Gaku Kitada, a talented mathematics scholar, and Kai Asakura, a young but similarly talented chef. After Gaku suffers setbacks on his dream of becoming a mathematician, he meets Kai as he is running his own food business, and joins Kai in an attempt at something new.”
A 10 episode live-action adaptation debuted back in October 20, 2023 until December 22, 2023 with stars such as Fumiya Takahashi portraying Gaku Kitada and Jun Shison playing as Kai Asakura.
Kobayashi also worked on the previously mentioned sports manga Aoashi, which also received an anime adaptation back in April 9, 2022 until September 24, 2022. The manga will also be completed in the 40th volume.
