Animation studio J.C.Staff has handled at least six anime in the fall season, so a delay is expected for one of its shows. Danmachi’s fifth season is unfortunately one of the studio’s outputs hit with the delay with only four remaining episodes.
Fans will have to wait for the upcoming episode of the fifth season to return in early spring 2025 due to production issues, according to Crunchyroll News. Currently, a specific air date has not yet been confirmed.
It’s also reported that a new visual was revealed for the fifth season of Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? (Danmachi) anime adaptation. The visual teases the climax for the Faction War story arc which will begin from the 12th episode.
A tweet confirming the spring 2025 release alongside the new visual showcasing Bell Cranel confronting Ottar was uploaded via the official X account of the Danmachi anime.
HIDIVE is currently streaming the fifth season of Danmachi and describes the current season as such:
As the labyrinth city of Orario prepares for the Goddess Festival, Bell Cranel looks forward to the festivities after his and Ryu’s harrowing escape from the Dungeon’s darkened depths. However, in a small pub tucked away on a street corner, the single decision of a young woman causes a chain of events that throws Bell’s life and the entire city into chaos.
Recently, the author of Danmachi’s light novel series, Fujino Ōmori, previously announced that the 21st volume of Danmachi’s light novel will feature the final arc.
It’s sad to see shows still getting delayed as this has been quite common in the current decade. Maybe the anime industry ought to limit its productions if it wants to prevent delays from occurring next time.
