Lost Records: Bloom and Rage delayed into next year

Once planned for a 2024 release, Lost Records: Bloom and Rage, which premiered at The Game Awards. It’s poised as the successor to the widely popular DON’T NOD Life is Strange IP, has been delayed into early 2025.

According to a release on Actusnews Wire and later shared on social media, the game was under assessment and the team made the decision to delay the game to ensure it gets a strong time in the sun and not overlap with the new upcoming Life is Strange game. DON’T NOD CEO Oskar Guilbert did address the disappointing news, noting that the French studio knows how much people are excited for the game to come, but is confident that the wait will be worth it.

โ€œWe know that many of our fans are eagerly awaiting this game, just as they are the recently announced next installment of Life is Strange. Let’s give both titles the space they need to be enjoyed by our players within the large community we have built. We firmly believe that the wait for Bloom & Rage will be worth it. We look forward to sharing this new adventure, which we hope will become another memorable chapter in the DON’T NOD universe.โ€

We've made the decision to move the release dates of Lost Records: Bloom & Rage to early 2025. We know you're all excited for both Lost Records and the new Life is Strange game, and we wanted to ensure both have adequate space to shine. The wait will be worth it! pic.twitter.com/PH1O7z3uUy

Lost Records: Bloom and Rage takes place during two time periods — 1995 and 2022 — that focus on four friends who face some sort of event that led to the quad to disband. They reunite after almost three decades to assumingly face the thing that’s been haunting them since that day.

In terms of gameplay, it’s going to play similar to previous DON’T NOD games, specifically both Life is Strange entries, but combined with new elements and a camcorder playing a large part into the puzzle solving element of the game.

Lost Records: Bloom and Rage heads our way early 2025 on PC via Steam, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
