KeokeN still wants Deliver Us in VR, “exciting idea” for spin-off

KeokeN Interactive is well underway in reviving its Deliver Us universe as its Kickstarter for Deliver Us Home has been successfully funded. Now, though, we ask, what’s next after the fact? Is that the last we’ll see of the IP? Is there more?

In an interview with Smash Jump, contributor Nicole Rodrigues-Galdo asked just that, wondering if this was going to be the final installment of the series or if there’s more stuff cooking behind the scenes. In response, it’s a resounding “kinda.”

While the thought that it could be killing current ideas isn’t hard to believe, it appears it still believes Deliver Us to be its big IP. During GDC before the layoffs occurred, the team shared five different projects it wants to work on, including a VR Deliver Us game, as well as a spin-off, Deliver Us Huygens. Currently, though, its sole focus is on making Deliver Us Home “a worthy successor” to Deliver Us The Moon and Deliver Us Mars.

“As shown in our big prototype reveal at GDC, there was an idea on getting a Deliver Us game specifically for VR and to have an exciting idea for a spin-off. Right now, the situation is very different. Currently our focus is completely on Deliver Us Home and to make a worthy successor.”

We suspect if things go well, KeokeN will likely head the spin-off route and then a VR entry down the line. Regardless, it seems even with the failure to secure a publisher with its initial rounds, it will hopefully foster a community strong enough to publish the game itself.

Stay tuned later today for the full KeokeN interview.
