New Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown footage pops up

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown is — generally — right around the corner, and Ubisoft is making sure people know it with a brand-new gameplay showcase. This follows previews sent out to multiple game media sites.

The footage still generally covers the same sections as the three to four-hour previews for press, apparently, but does shift its focus to Mount Qaf. The trailer details Sargon’s abilities that the player can foster through this 2D Metroidvania. This will also mark a significant milestone as the franchise has had a distinct lack of new games in recent years, so The Lost Crown will no doubt satiate fans as they wait for the Sands of Time remake.

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown launches on current and past-gen consoles on January 18, with a demo dropping on January 11. If you’re invested in the genre, we’re sure this will be something to keep an eye on. In the meantime, we can all just sit back and enjoy the showcase.
