Remedy recoups “most” of Alan Wake 2 dev and marketing costs

Remedy Entertainment has recouped “most” of Alan Wake 2’s development and marketing costs. The DLCs have obviously played no small part in this.

Remedy’s quarterly earnings (via IGN) revealed the news. Coupled into the report, though, it still isn’t generating royalties, but with the game remaining the studio’s fastest-selling game, having sold 1.3 million copies since March, it has a fine pace.

Unfortunately, we can’t help but wonder how successful it would be if it made it to Steam rather remaining exclusive to the Epic Games Store, which remains a hot-button topic within the PC gaming space.

Smash Jump’s Nicole Rodriguez-Galdo had this to say in her review of Alan Wake 2’s The Lake House DLC: “The DLC delivers a fantastic end to Alan Wake 2, furthering Estevez’s character, while providing more information on the FBC’s connection to Cauldron Lake.”
