Dead Space 4 was pitched, but EA rejected it

It seems that the Dead Space franchise still cannot catch a break. A pitch for a brand new Dead Space title was shown to EA this year by the original creators of the franchise, however, they were unfortunately shut down.

In an interview with YouTuber DanAllenGaming, one of the series original creators, Glenn Schofield, revealed that himself and other creators Bret Robbins and Christopher Stone approached EA to greenlight Dead Space 4 in 2024.

When asked for more details about what happened during their pitch, Schofield said: “Well we didn’t go too deep, they just said no, we’re not interested right now, we appreciate it, blah blah blah, and you know, we know who to talk to, so we didn’t go take it any further, and we respected their opinion you know, they know their numbers and what they have to ship and all that.”

This revelation, coupled with the fact that the Dead Space franchise is on hold once again following the remake’s lacklustre sales, is another nail in the franchise’s coffin. Hopefully, this isn’t the last we hear of Dead Space 4 and one day a new entry will be out to make us whole again.
