Firaxisย confirms Civilization 7 is Steam Deck verified ahead of its February release date. The entry is promised to be a “revolutionary new chapter” to the series.

Sid Meier’s Civilization’s official Twitter revealed the news with the tag “Make history on the go.” This entry does have a lot riding on it, with its senior historian believing it will lead to a deeper fascination with history.

#Civ7 is officially ๐—ฆ๐—ง๐—˜๐—”๐—  ๐——๐—˜๐—–๐—ž ๐—ฉ๐—˜๐—ฅ๐—œ๐—™๐—œ๐—˜๐—— โœ…

It’s been a while since the Civ series saw any new mainline entries, with Civ 6 being back in 2016. It wasn’t until February 2023 that Firaxis actually noted that it was working on a new entry, and moreover, it wasn’t until June 2024 that we actually saw the full reveal.

Sid Meier’s Civilization 7 releases to current and previous-gen consoles on February 11.
