Coyote vs. Acme might hit the big screen after cancelation

Two years ago, Coyote vs. Acme fell victim to Warner Bros.’ cost-cutting measures, leading to the already finished film, which tested well with test screeners, getting canned. Now, though, it might have its time to shine after all.

In a report from Deadline, LA distribution company Ketchup Entertainment is in talks to acquire the film and distribute it. Of course, it’s not set in stone, but if it does happen, it will likely come to theaters next year.

The film follows Wile E. Coyote in his endeavor to sue Acme after its gadgets fail him too many times, leading to him tapping a billboard lawyer, played by Will Forte. Alongside Forte, John Cena takes a starring role, as well. The film was written by Samy Burch and James Gunn.

Now, it’s not too hard to see Ketchup Entertainment able to pull this off, after all, it already did it once with The Day the Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie, which has gone on to be enjoyed by audiences and critics alike.

In a bit of Looney Tunes news, though, classic shorts have disappeared from Max as WB continues to pivot toward family and adult programming.
