Bithell Games, which just weeks ago launched Tron: Catalyst, has made a majority of its full-time staff redundant. Considering the game’s reception and player count, it’s not too surprising.
On Bluesky, Mike Bithell announced that it’s made 11 full-time staffers redundant. This was largely due to the studio being unable to find new large scale projects. That said, it was lucky enough to do this ahead of time and provided what sounds like a solid severance package.
Bithell Games’ troubles aren’t too shocking, previously it was best-known for Thomas Was Alone and Volume, but as of late, the studio hasn’t been able to capture an audience, with its last notable release prior to Tron: Catalyst, which has an all-time peak of 56, per SteamDB, was the now-delisted John Wick Hex, which had its own below 100 all-time peak.
