Square Enix has revealed the next title for one of the most-beloved Final Fantasy franchises: Dissidia Duellum Final Fantasy. The classic 3v3 arena battle system returns once again for mobile devices, but the game takes place in modern-day Tokyo. Once monsters start rampaging through the city, mysterious warriors appear to face the beasts before disappearing like Ghosts.
The game will launch with multiple representatives from various Final Fantasy entries like Kain, Cloud, Lightning, Prompto, and more. Each Ghost will fit one of four roles: melee, ranged, agile, or support. The only Final Fantasy entries that are currently exempted are Final Fantasy 2, 3, 10, 11, 12, and 16. More ghosts may appear to defend modern-day Tokyo in the future.
The game will introduce various customization methods, from outfits to Memorias. Fashionable clothes are available for each warrior, including modern casual items. Outfits donโt really affect a fighterโs combat potential in battle, which is what Memorias are for. Memorias arenโt just illustrated art from the Final Fantasy series, but also stat enhancements to ease the fights against monsters and bosses.
The game will release in 2026 on IOS and Android. Creative producer, Tetsuya Nomura, posted a note about the upcoming closed beta test going live on November 7, 2025, and November 14, 2025, at 3:00 am – 8:59 pm (UTC). Itโs not recommended to play the game with specs below Android 11.0, Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, and 4GB of RAM. Anyone can sign up for its closed beta test until October 28.
