Blumhouse’s Black Phone 2 has reached $10.7 million at the domestic box office alone, with international numbers still unsure.
Spread across 3,411 locations, the horror flick sequel Friday and preview screenings have bolstered it closer and close to the number 1 spot this month, with a three-day expectation of $24.4 million. This would put it ahead of its precursor’s theatrical release, which saw a $23.6 million debut back in 2022.
It helps that some locations the film is being shown in include higher ticket prices and big movies, including the likes of the fumbled Tron: Ares. Moreover, the film’s praises are being sung by critics and fans alike, which is a great thing as much of Blumhouse’s latest offerings have fallen short of a success.
