Streamer Emiru was forcefully pulled into an embrace and an attempted kiss by a random fan during a meet and greet during TwitchCon. Rather than con security, though, it was her own security guard that stepped into action to push him away.
This spread around like wildfire as of late, with Emiru putting TwitchCon on blast for not taking immediate action and blatantly lying to in what statement it did give. The man wasn’t immediately apprehended, like staff said, as fans can see the man walk off after being pushed away. While he was eventually found, it was more likely because the streamer’s manager was putting the heat on the con and not the “three or four” members in the area taking initiative.
Meanwhile, to make the con sound even worse, intentional or not, Emiru alleges that her normal security guard was banned from the event after a previous TwitchCon for holding a stalker’s arm to bring him to police.
Emiru has gone on to say that she didn’t feel protected and that she is not going to attend another TwitchCon, while encouraging creators consider following in her footsteps.
