It’s already been a decade since Assassin’s Creed Syndicate officially launched with the most modern Assassin’s Creed setting. Ubisoft celebrates its 10th anniversary by bringing the original developers to reveal the game’s development.
The Ubisoft interview introduced four former Assassin’s Creed Syndicate developers, including the game director and lead AI/gameplay programmer. They responded to each question, including their favorite moment during development, preferred playstyle approach, and other main topics.
Jonathan is one of the few still working in the latest Assassin’s Creed franchise; the former world director made an inspirational response to the question about how the Assassin’s Creed Syndicate development will impact them for future games. He emphasized cooperative teamwork, which was very significant for the next Assassin’s Creed entry and beyond.
“I think the biggest lesson from Syndicate was discovering how much we could accomplish together. It was a bold, ambitious project, and through it we learned to collaborate, to dream as a team, and to push toward something we all believed in. That shared experience became a key part of how we approached AC Odyssey—it gave us a foundation built on trust, creativity, and teamwork.”
Despite the series continuing with Assassin’s Creed Shadows, the previous games are still receiving support, like Assassin’s Creed Mirage’s expansion for Basim’s past. Assassin’s Creed Syndicate previously had a performance update for 60 FPS mode on Xbox Series X|S and PS5 consoles, making the journey in London much smoother.
