New character Ingrid joins Street Fighter 6 lineup this May

Street Fighter 6 developer Capcom has announced Ingrid as its final addition to the Year 3 character roster. A veteran fighter who has been absent from the franchise since her creation for the cancelled Capcom Fighting All-Stars and eventual debut in 2004 crossover Capcom Fighting Evolution, her next official appearance on May 28 should allow her to finally shine.

In the gameplay trailer released last week, Ingrid remains serene throughout as she combines arcing melee kicks with projectiles, light beams, and teleportation as part of a balanced “long-range zoner” approach. Additionally, she can supplement regular attacks by combining them with her magic Sun Crests to open up new combos and setups. Doll-like sprite Monoid can also assist her in combat by setting up special moves or fighting as Ingrid’s replacement.

The English voice of Ingrid was revealed to be Rebecca Wang, known for her various anime roles as Kayuki in Demon Slayer and Charlotte in Genshin Impact; the Japanese voice is played by former singer and Attack on Titan alum Manami Numakura.

Ingrid herself confirmed that as part of her DLC event, Outfit 3 will also become available for every Year 3 fighter soon after the May 28 release date.
