Take-Two CEO debunks Grand Theft Auto VI pre-order rumor

Man, the rumor mill continues to spin about Grand Theft Auto VI. Recent rumors surfaced claiming it would kick off pre-orders at Best Buy soon, but that’s just not the case and no one seems to know where this came from.

In an interview with Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier, he could confirm that Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick has no idea where the Best Buy rumor came from and asserts pre-orders will be closer to when marketing really ramps up this summer.

Take-Two earnings: Grand Theft Auto VI is still planned for November 19. No delay. In an interview with Bloomberg today, CEO Strauss Zelnick said he didn't know where this week's Best Buy rumors came from and that pre-orders typically start alongside marketing (which will begin this summer).

Grand Theft Auto VI has always been trapped in an endless loop of rumors, ranging from no physical release until after launch to the game getting delayed into next year. Zelnick has since nipped away both those rumors, alongside this Best Buy rumor now.

Grand Theft Auto VI is poised to release on November 19, 2026 following a couple of delays.
