Original Tekken breaks out in a new release for modern consoles

Hamster Corporation recently announced the return of the original 3D battle arena fighting game: Tekken. It’s the arcade version that allows any fan to experience the origin of one of Bandai Namco’s cherished series, especially with the new VRR support for better immersion.

The trailer featured the playable base roster in Arcade Archives 2 Tekken: Kunimitsu, Nina, Lawrence, Kazuya, Paul, Jack, King, and Michelle. Similar to the arcade version, this new release has Original Mode, Caravan Mode, and Score Attack Mode. It also introduces the new Time Attack mode for players to complete and record the best scores.

Players won’t be able to face each other online, though they can still compete for the best score with the implemented online ranking boards. For offline play, Arcade Archives 2 Tekken includes multiple new features, such as settings for difficulty and screen, rewind, rapid fire, and save slots.

Arcade Archives 2 Tekken is currently available to play for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2.
