Every game announced during the PlayStation State of Play

PlayStation revealed a packed schedule of first-party and third-party titles at their most recent State of Play. New franchises, remakes, and sequels fueled the bulk of the seventy-minute presentation with a number of games finally receiving release dates for 2026 and early 2027. Here’s everything that was shown at the June 2 State of Play.

Marvel’s Wolverine

Insomniac kicked off State of Play by presenting the first extended look at gameplay for Marvel’s Wolverine, following Logan as he attempts to rescue captive mutant children from Bolivar Trask’s cybernetically-enhanced Reavers with the help of new ally Jean Grey.

Wolverine can use his adamantium claws to stealthily ambush enemies and thin the herd before shredding enemies with a mix of strikes, leaps, and parries; opening them up to gory finishers. Damaging or killing Reavers builds Rage, allowing for stronger attacks or faster healing in the tradition of Spider-Man’s Focus Meter, and eventually pushing Wolverine into an immensely powerful monochromatic Rage Mode. Conversely, when Logan is downed in combat he can draw on his remaining rage to speed up his healing factor and make a last stand. The environment appears incredibly responsive to Wolverine’s attacks: enemies tumble over barriers, fly through storage containers, and one poor Reaver is even skewered on a forklift. Jean Grey will aid you in combat, too, by freezing and levitating enemies; leaving open the possibility for more team-ups with previously announced characters like Mystique and Sabretooth.

It all culminates in an Uncharted-style chase over the local freeway that has Wolverine leaping from truck to truck, slicing and dicing an army of robotic soldiers. It’s the kind of bombastic action for which Insomniac has become known and it appears Wolverine will have it in spades. Though some levels may end up being more open than others (such as the city of Madripoor) but Marvel’s Wolverine should prove a refreshingly linear and cinematic globetrotting adventure when it launches for PlayStation 5 on September 15, 2026.

Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls

Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls revealed another team who will fight to earn a chance to battle the Champion of the Universe: The Knights of Doom, comprised of Doctor Doom (of course), Magneto, Green Goblin, and Carnage. The announcement marks the first villain characters revealed by developer Arc System Works. Attendees at EVO 2026 Las Vegas over June 26-28 will have the opportunity to try out the 4v4 tag fighter before the official launch on August 6, 2026 for PlayStation 5 and PC.

Rayman: Legends Retold

Rayman Legends Retold reimagines the acclaimed 2013 platformer wit a fresh 3D art style, new levels, fresh cinematics, and an expanded soundtrack. Dave the Diver: In the Jungle may be less than two weeks away but developer MintRocket aren’t slowing down. In an adventure that will test Bancho’s fledgling culinary skills, players will collect ingredients, prepare tea, and cut fish under the tutelage of various sushi masters. We’ll have to wait until later this year for more details but you can find Bancho in the next Dave the Diver DLC when it releases on June 18.

Kemuri

Kemuri, a brand new co-operative action game from independent studio Unseen, will allow up to three players to become legendary Yokai Hunters, highly-skilled warriors who can see – and battle – supernatural creatures; deploying parkour abilities and traversal gadgets to explore Kemuri City, an urban sprawl where the boundary between this world and the next have become blurred. Players will squad up as one of three hunter classes (the Shaman, Bow Hunter, or Katana Hunter) and wield magical abilities taken from Yokai across the city, allowing for unique playstyles. Expect to see more from Kemuri in the coming months before the game releases sometime in 2027 exclusively on PlayStation 5.

Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis

A reimagining of Lara Croft’s 1996 debut, Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis looks to faithfully adapt the intrepid adventurer’s quest for Atlantis to modern consoles with the power of Unreal Engine 5. Redesigned puzzles, immersive environments, and cinematic action should make this a rewarding experience for fans and newcomers alike. We just can’t wait to lock poor Jeeves in the freezer in crystal-clear 4K. Legacy of Atlantis releases on February 12, 2027 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC. The next game in the series, Tomb Raider: Catalyst, is also slated for 2027.

The Lost Wild

The Lost Wild is a new evasion-based survival horror that takes place in an abandoned, dilapidated dinosaur research facility. Developer Great Ape Games have promised to reveal more about the game closer to its official launch in 2027 for PlayStation 5 and PC.

PlayStation Plus

Sony announced several additions to PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium during State of Play. Open world survival game Runescape: Dragonwilds makes its way to the Game Catalog day one on September 15, 2026; while the Classics Catalog will add three vintage titles in Gitarooman, Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy, and Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams across June, July, and August respectively.

Until Dawn 2

The fan-favourite horror series returns after eleven long years. A cast of TV ghost hunters explore a tropical island hiding a dark secret. Everyone can live. Anyone can die. Until Dawn is back, baby. Developed by newcomer Firesprite as opposed to the original’s Supermassive, Until Dawn 2 sees the return of the Butterfly Effect system deployed across the original Until Dawn, spiritual successor The Quarry, and The Dark Pictures Anthology. Players will have the opportunity to save, or murder, another gang of obnoxious twenty-somethings when Until Dawn 2 launches for PlayStation 5 in 2027.

God of War: Laufey

Sony Santa Monica’s God of War franchise continues in God of War: Laufey, following the adventures of Kratos’ wife Faye (Deborah Ann Woll) from her funeral pyre and into the afterlife of the gods; announced alongside a twenty-minute gameplay reveal that wrapped up the State of Play. Combat blends the grounded approach of modern God of War with the movement and fluidity of the classic Greek saga; Faye deploys far more aerial attacks and can juggle enemies midair before slamming down into the earth. Magic also plays a critical role: as the Golden Hand of the Jötnar she can detach enemies’ souls from their bodies and use them in devastating area-of-effect combos. Companion characters return in the form of gelatinous cube Phranque (Jack Quaid) and sword ribbon Rue (Perlina Lau), each with their own secondary attacks that will assist Faye in combat.

Laufey will likely feature a smorgasbord of godly traditions from the Egyptian to the Buddhist, but could we also see the return of the (mostly dead) Greek pantheon in this next installment? Expect more details closer to release when God of War: Laufey launches exclusively on PlayStation 5.
