Atlus participated in the Xbox Games Showcase to reveal Persona 4 Revival, a Persona 4 remake. It’s an RPG that takes place in Inaba, Japan, where multiple murder cases occur. A group of students cooperate as a team to investigate not just the murders and rumored Midnight Channel, but also the TV World.
The trailer showcases the remake’s improved visuals and gameplay features reminiscent of Persona 5, but with its unique style. It’s an extremely convenient release for modern fans to engage with the main Persona cast in the small, rural town, especially with the new in-game mechanics.

Friendly Mechanics
Baton Pass is a recurring feature brought for another young batch of students to work as a team. Similar to Persona 5, getting a 1 More after exploiting a weak point or earning a critical hit will let the user pass the turn to another teammate. This is greatly beneficial for continuing the advantage offensively and defensively.
Another feature originating from Persona 5 is the phone feature. As a normal student, the protagonist can receive texts from friends to gain information or start social activities. This is very convenient for managing social life, especially when leveling up Social Ranks.

Social Link bonuses
It is confirmed that Persona 4 Revival will present new scenes fully voiced. This makes the social events more immersive when deepening the bond between friends. Since it is a Persona 4 remake, it will include the definitive Persona 4 content, such as winter events and Marie.
The new remake did tinker with the social links by adding new social bonuses. This makes every social rank more rewarding with beneficial effects and options for Yu to utilize during dungeon exploration.

Special Finale
Team Gauge is a new system that allows the Investigation Team to activate Prime Time. This special mode heightens the party members’ abilities with several benefits, including no sp cost, ignoring enemy resistances, and baton passes. The party members have to cooperate when building up the gauge, which carries its progression between battles.
The strongest option during Prime Time is Series Finale, a stylish Ultimate move for each Persona user. Activating the technique can produce massive damage, greatly benefiting the Investigation Team. Some moves even reference previous Persona games, like Yu Narukami’s cross slash from Persona 4 Arena.

Defensive maneuvers
Guard is a brand-new option that allows Yu to catch the shadows off guard. This new mechanic lets the protagonist block an enemy strike, stunning them for an opening.
This exploit lets Yu strike the shadows more easily for a battle advantage. Guard will prove very useful when chased by shadows near corners of the dungeons or other awkward positions.

Knocking enemies
When inflicting a negative ailment, the investigation team can further push their momentum in battle by utilizing the new knocking feature. “Send flying” is a new mechanic that lets the user knock an afflicted shadow into its allies, giving more damage.
This mechanic can only activate when successfully inflicting a status effect on a shadow before using a normal attack. When a shadow knocks into another shadow, the status ailments can spread between the disoriented creatures.
Persona 4 Revival is a remake of the PlayStation 2 and PlayStation 3 game Persona 4, originally released in 2008. The remake is set for launch on February 18, 2027 for Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam
