A new Destiny game has been revealed but it isn’t being developed by Bungie

The next entry in the Destiny franchise has been revealed, and it isn’t what most fans were expecting or hoping for. But regardless, it is looking surprisingly good.

The next adventure in Bungie’s long-running series, Destiny: Rising, was revealed via a trailer on YouTube. Pre-registration for the game is already live, and its closed alpha will start November 1.

Destiny: Rising will be set in an alternate timeline. The game will begin many years before the original series began. This will allow the team to explore events only discussed in the series Grimoire. With its alternate timeline, the game can also introduce new and unique stories.

The mobile title will offer PvP and PvE gameplay like the series’ other offerings. Interestingly, it will introduce a new third-person mode to the series, which many fans have been asking for.

Destiny: Rising will be available on Android and iOS when it’s closed alpha begins November 1.
