After a long wait, a new Bleach game has been announced: Bleach: Rebirth of Souls.
The game was revealed during the climax of Bandai Namco’s Summer Showcase, featuring snippets of exciting gameplay and the announcement of an English dub.
The trailer showcased beautiful cinematics recreating memorable moments from the anime. While the gameplay was only briefly highlighted, it looks promising. The game appears fast-paced, allowing players to utilize various Bankai transformations and more. It will be interesting to see which characters make the cut for this game and how deep the story goes. Depending on the release date and reception, it’s a safe bet that through updates or DLC, the entire story could be adapted and more characters added.
Bleach: Rebirth of Souls is a 3D fighting game that will feature both local and online multiplayer modes. The game is set to release on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. It is being developed by Tamsoft Corporation, known for their work on the Senran Kagura series, Melty Blood, and the Onechanbara series.
Given the developers’ unique history, it will be interesting to see how they handle this new game, which could face massive scrutiny based on other recent anime game releases.
So far, Tamsoft looks to have knocked it out of the park with this adaptation of the hit series. Hopefully, in the coming weeks or months, a release date will be revealed. With Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero releasing in October, Bleach: Rebirth of Souls will more than likely release next year.
