Capcom announces Boss Art contest for the new Mega Man game

Mega Man isn’t Capcom’s most profitable IP, though it is still treated as one of the company’s most significant franchises. That’s why Capcom presented its last announcement during The Game Awards 2025 as Mega Man: Dual Override. It brings back the Blue Bomber in his classic 2D side-scroller world with a more cel-shaded appearance. It’s currently confirmed to launch on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and Steam in 2027.

Since it’s the 12th entry of Mega Man stopping Dr. Wily’s plans, the irritated doctor has called for a Boss Design Art contest. He presented a base robot master model for any creative fan to design the most unique threat for the doctor to command.

Capcom will judge every submission through multiple rounds before deciding the final seven winners. The grand winner will influence Dr. Wily to follow the creative design to fight the classic Blue Bomber in Mega Man: Dual Override. The remaining six winners who are awarded with Excellence will be featured in the in-game credits.

We're hosting a Boss Design Art Contest for Mega Man: Dual Override where the Grand Prize winner's design will be added to the game as a boss!

Entry Period
12/11/2025, 6:00 PM – 1/1/2026, 11:59 PM PST
