Capcom reschedules the latest Onimusha title with an earlier release

Onimusha: Way of the Sword is currently the last Capcom game for the year that was previously scheduled for September 25, 2026. Due to its development, the studio has announced the game launching early for every gaming platform on September 4, 2026.

Due to this change, Capcom has announced that digital pre-orders from the Nintendo eShop were automatically canceled. Those who pre-ordered the game digitally will need to repurchase the game to acquire it on the new release date. This change has only affected the digital pre-orders as the physical orders weren’t automatically canceled.

Onimusha: Way of the Sword is still available to pre-order as Standard, Deluxe, and its Premium Deluxe Edition. The pre-order bonuses for each edition has changed its name as the early adopter bonuses, letting anyone acquire the extra in-game items before September 25, 2026. There’s also a demo bonus for anyone who completes the demo released for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam.
