Capcom recently participated in the Nintendo Direct to bring the latest installment of its cherished franchise, Devil May Cry 5. It was announced for the Nintendo Switch 2 as a digital release on June 23, 2026, with no mention of a physical copy in North America.
Capcom Europe presented a different story, mentioning the same Nintendo news of Devil May Cry 5 Devil Hunter Edition’s digital release in June before its physical format launches on August 28, 2026. The Devil May Cry account did mention a physical release before revising its statement, excluding any mention of the physical release. This would imply either the physical format for Nintendo Switch 2 is only available through select regional demands or coming globally at a later announcement.
Devil May Cry 5 Devil Hunter Edition is the most definitive version of Devil May Cry 5, which provides the base game, playable Vergil, EX color pack, 5 Devil breakers for Nero, Cavaliere R weapon for Dante, and other content. It’s already available for preorder at a discounted price in the Nintendo eShop. The sale will continue for anyone who purchases the game after its official release until July 31, 2026. Capcom will provide more news about the development of Devil May Cry at a later date, including its possible global physical release.
