Disco Elysium spin-off studio isn’t making an isometric game

Dark Math Games, one of the few studios spun-off from Disco Elysium maker ZA/UM has unveiled a few changes. First off, the spiritual successor to the game will not be isometric, but rather just third-person, and the game’s name has changed.

As reported by VGC, studio founder Timo Albert explains the setting and why XXXNightshift, which is now Tangerine Antarctic, changed its name.

“Set at the World’s End ski village at Mount Hope, British Antarctica, Tangerine Antarctic is the name of the in-game hotel, designed by renowned Estonian architect Kaur Stőőr, where most of the game’s action takes place.

This is where you are stuck because of the blizzard and must solve the mysterious murders. And Tangerine Antarctic is one of the important characters of this true detective RPG.”

Beyond Dark Math, other studios have capitalized from former ZA/UM talent, Longdue Games is another studio with ex-talent from the studio. There’s also Red Info Ltd, which is reportedly founded by game director Robert Kurvitz and art director Aleksander Rostov.
