Doug Bowser has officially retired from Nintendo of America

Doug Bowser previously announced his retirement from his CEO role at Nintendo of America. The last date in his leadership role was December 31, 2025, when he posted his farewell to the company with the villainous Koopa joining him.

While he didn’t entirely explain his leave, he did post one of his most significant reasons: spending family time in the new year with his young granddaughter. He cherished every moment during his work for the company he admired since childhood and wished for the best with Devon Pritchard leading Nintendo of America in a new year. Despite his leave, he doesn’t see the situation as an end, but an opportunity to develop his experience.

“As for me, it’s not Game Over…it’s just time to level up.”
