Game development takes time, to that some tune, developers need to balance the dev timeline to ensure the game doesn’t release “too late.” Ubisoft shared insights on that while discussing the many factors that can affect a game’s release.
During its financial report (via GamingBolt), Ubisoft shared that releasing game too early can hinder its success, as does the opposite side the spectrum of releasing it too late.
“Conversely, releasing a game too late – when market anticipation has waned, and it no longer meets market standards in a highly competitive environment – can also hinder its success.”
This statement feels interesting for the studio to make as fans are eagerly awaiting a handful of Ubi projects, but namely the new Far Cry, which was confirmed to be in development as recently as February, as well as the development hell-addled Beyond Good and Evil.
