Extending Cyberpunk 2077’s first act wouldn’t have made it better, creative director asserts

Cyberpunk 2077‘s first act, which served as a means for players to get to know V and his best friend, Jackie, but many felt it was a fleeting part of the game that needed more time. CD Projekt’s Igor Sarzynski, however, doesn’t seem to think it would’ve made it a better game if it did extend the act, using Star Wars as his example.

On social media (via IGN), Sarzynski equated it to if Star Wars forced us to sit through more time on Tatooine, watching Luke without any sort of Jedi stuff involved.

“… It’s like saying we should spend more time on Tatooine with farmer Luke before he got involved with all this Jedi stuff.”

Plenty of people have voiced their dismay in how fleeting the first act is, which ends after the failed heist and ending of Jackie. It’s always felt like a gut-wrenching moment, but with as little time as we actually spend with the guy, it’s hard to truly feel anything after it happens for many, leading to people shoehorning as much time as they can into playing through every inch of Watson as they can.
