Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth has hit the PC scene with peaks of of over 40K, which marks the highest Steam peak for the IP’s single player releases. Even Final Fantasy 7 Remake and Final Fantasy 16 are dwarfed in comparison.

As reported by Eurogamer, Rebirth clocked specifically in at 40,564 concurrent players on Steam, which stands as its current peak at the time of writing. Now, this isn’t the series’ highest Steam peak overall, that stands as post-Endwalker Final Fantasy 14 at a 95,150 peak.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth benefits from a solid performance experience compared to the previous two single player games mentioned. Additionally, it’s Steam Deck verified.

Meanwhile, game director Naoki Hamaguchi has come out in support of mods in an Automation interview, believing they can “breathe life” into games.
