As you may remember Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade just got a release date, marking the first in the trilogy’s move to hitting both Xbox and the Switch 2, but it’s been uncovered that the game will eat up at least 90GB of storage. Moreover, its physical release will, of course, be a Game Key Card.
As reported by Eurogamer, the eShop listing notes that players need to ensure they have 90GB free for the game. Considering the maximum storage of a Switch 2 is 256GB, it’ll eat up about 34% of your console’s storage.
“Regardless of the memory requirement listed below, a download of up to 90GB will be required.”
Nintendo caps its cartridge capacity at 64GB, which has led to a lot of its third-party support using the controversial Game Key Card feature, which allows developers to still sell games physically, but not have to abide by the 64GB rule, forcing players to download the game all while using staple requirements for physical, like needing the cartridge to play.
Final Fantasy Remake VII Intergrade launches to the Switch 2 and Xbox Series X|S on January 22, 2026.
