Gang of Dragon was previously announced during The Game Awards 2025 as the debut project of Nagoshi Studio. It hasn’t received any update or trailer since then, implying its release date is targeting beyond 2026. It may take way longer than expected due to the studio’s questionable stability, such as its official website being offline.
This isn’t the only concerning news for Nagoshi Studio, as it previously had issues with its YouTube account. It was suddenly deleted out of nowhere for a moment before the studio recovered it. Even though the account is online, it hasn’t published any content relating to Gang of Dragons.
It was previously reported by Bloomberg that NetEase halted funding for Nagoshi Studio in March 2026, which had only joined the company in January 2022. NetEase didn’t mention a reason for its decision, as Gang of Dragon still required an additional $44.4 million to satisfy its development funds. The loss of support is now forcing Nagoshi Studio to search for alternative funding, which hasn’t been updated yet. Until Nagoshi Studio can find another source of funding, Gang of Dragon may reach closer to being cancelled.
