Rockstar Games revealed today that the highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto VI has been delayed to 2026.
It was revealed on the its website. Whilst Rockstar didn’t explain exactly what the main reason for the delay was it most likely is for further refinement to the game. This easily explains why we haven’t heard anything from the developers in over a year since the first trailer dropped.
However, the announcement did come with some good news as we finally have a release date: May 26, 2026. How long Rockstar sticks to this release date is anyone guess, but it gives fans a little ray of hope that one day they’ll have GTA 6 in their hands. Valve, take notes.
