Important Nintendo composer hasn’t worked there in a year

Nintendo’s prolific modern composer, Yasuaki Iwata, has shared a late message revealing he hasn’t worked for the Japanese developer since July 2023. He had co-composed tracks in some of the Big N’s modern hits like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Animal Corssing: New Horizon, Arms, and Mario Kart 8.

Sharing on Twitter, Iwata revealed he had some belated news to share regarding him and Nintendo. The news being he’s left the company and hasn’t been producing music for it for some time.

Following his departure, he had been producing new music, taking a step “towards a new challenge.” He hasn’t gone into detail about what his new project is just yet.
