Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 isn’t banned in Saudi Arabia

A rumor surfaced that Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 had been banned in Saudi Arabia over some unskippable gay cutscenes. After a brief time left unaddressed, Warhorse Studios co-founder Daniel Vávra has stamped out said claims.

Vávra took to Twitter over the weekend in a 10 part thread to assert that its game had not been banned in the country nor were said cutscenes unskippable. As he said, “you are responsible for your decisions” and if you wish for the protagonist, Henry, to “try a same-sex adventure,” that’s on the player.

It is time to address wild claims some people spread that are apparently based just on one screenshot and a poorly translated tweet (Spoiler alert: contains spoilers about the story of KCD2): pic.twitter.com/1IV1kgfRgL

Moreover, all cutscenes are skippable, and as remarked by Vávra, “Anybody who claims otherwise never played them.” He also points out similar content was in the original Kingdom Come Deliverance and it did just fine and the game’s morals align with 1403 Bohemia rather than “modern audiences.”

While we wait for Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, you can read up on the original, which in our Nintendo Switch review, we said: “Saber has done its best to port the title on the Switch and maintain a serviceable graphical fidelity. While Kingdom Come features a unique story, setting, and believable characters, it is wrapped within a mixed technical presentation that will be sure to test your patience.”

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 releases on February 4, 2025 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
