Lake adds a new game mode for console players

Need a reason to return to the quiet and peaceful town of Providence Oaks, the setting for the cozy game Lake? A new update might be just the nudge you need.

To celebrate the launch of this update, Lake is now available at a 50% discount on Steam and PlayStation as revealed in a press release. The update introduces a small yet highly-requested feature: the ability to pet the cats of Providence Oaks.

Each cat in Providence Oaks has a unique personality, and players must earn their trust to get the coveted belly pets. It’s a charming addition that adds another layer of interaction to the game.

Console players have something new to look forward to as well, with the introduction of a new game mode. After completing the main story, players can access an endless game mode, allowing them to keep delivering mail for as long as they’d like. While no new stories or dialogue have been added, the endless mode is available in both the original Lake experience and the holiday-themed DLC, Seasonโ€™s Greetings.

Though there was no news about the recent Nintendo Switch release getting the content from this update, developer Gamious’ commitment to the game suggests that players wonโ€™t have to wait too long for further updates.

Lake is available on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
