Last year’s Lords of the Fallen drew in quite the crowd and it looks like developer Hexworks and console publisher CI Games wants to catch lightning in a bottle twice as it reveals Lords of the Fallen 2. The studio will publish the game on consoles while signing off — seemingly permanently — PC publishing rights to Epic Games.
According to Polish publication Bankier, which includes an English translation, LotF 2, which was under the apt codename Project 3, is scheduled to release sometime in 2026 and appears to plan on launching the game on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, despite no doubt having the next console generation approaching.
Developed in Unreal Engine 5, Lords of the Fallen 2 seeks to broaden its audience appeal and introduce more ambitious gameplay, while taking cues from what it’s learned during the original’s development. Considering the game is continuing on with updates that bolster its audience, we’re pretty sure the team will begin to tapper off of new updates likely next year.
The game itself garnered favoring reviews on PC and Xbox, meanwhile it failed to keep the same favorable reviews on PlayStation, with it being a bit more mixed on Sony’s flagship console.
