Marvel Rivals dev doesn’t have “any kind of a PvE plan”

There’s been confirmation that Marvel Rivals developer NetEase Games has no plans for PvE modes in the popular hero shooter. This comes on the heels of a leak indicating the opposite.

Per IGN, though, which spoke with producer Weicong Wu, the idea seems out of the dev’s scope, at least at the moment. In the end, it’s always experimenting with new game modes and this could be the silver lining in a PvE mode, but as it stands that idea is dead in the water.

“For now we don’t have any kind of a PvE plan, but our development team is continuously experimenting with new game play modes. So if we found that a new specific game mode is entertaining enough, fun enough, we would of course bring it to our audience.”

Wu went on to mention that the team knows people want a PvE mode, but also points out that it would fall into a “totally distinctive experience,” and as such, its dev team is working on continuing to workshop modes that work better for the game’s approach.

In our Marvel Rivals review, we said: “If you’re not into multiplayer, it’s at least worth a shot because it’s free-to-play. NetEase released Marvel Rivals at just the perfect time. We will see how far they can take this very strong launch, but currently, this game is a blast! It’s a must-play for Marvel fans, shooter fans, and especially Overwatch fans.”
