Marvel Rivals dev is not talking Switch or mobile port

The upcoming free-to-play hero shooter tied to the Marvel IP, Marvel Rivals, is not currently planned to release on the Nintendo Switch or mobile devices.

Speaking with Pocket Tactics, game director Thaddeus Sasser spills the beans that there are “no discussions” around the game getting introduced to new platforms. This isn’t too shocking considering a mobile version would need something completely new while its Switch port would be releasing on old hardware that lags behind the current-gen.

It should be noted that while ports aren’t in the game’s near future, it’s all-too-possible that it could find itself on Nintendo’s new hardware when it launches… whenever that actually is.

Marvel Rivals launches for free on December 5, 2024.
