Marvel Tokon Fighting Souls is one of Sony’s big upcoming fighting games this year, yet it has already limited its availability across multiple nations. Due to Sony’s online requirement, the game is banned in over 100 countries.
Since Sony is treating Marvel Tokon Fighting Souls like a live service project, it’s pushing the PSN account link as a necessary step to access the game. The Steam version revealed that the game isn’t available in 132 countries because Sony’s PSN service is unavailable or non-compliant in various nations. It’s quite similar to Helldivers 2, though the information wasn’t very clear to the public, prompting the studio to drop the PSN requirement for wider availability. In Marvel’s case, Sony seems more committed to pushing the PSN requirement to strengthen its online platform.
It’s not even possible to use a VPN to bypass the restriction for PSN since Sony’s Terms of Service count that act as a violation, resulting in severe punishment, like banning the PS account. This issue will greatly limit the growing community for Marvel Tokon Fighting Souls.
